About the Author
Cynthia Cooper, MFA, MA, OTR/L, CHT, is a clinician, author, researcher, and educator. She has practiced hand therapy for over 36 years and has published chapters in numerous hand therapy and occupational therapy textbooks and journals. Ms. Cooper is an active charter member of the American Society of Hand Therapy (ASHT), and she has presented numerous times at national and international meetings of occupational therapy and hand therapy organizations. She has won several awards including ASHT's Best Scientific Paper Award, ASHT's Best Poster Award, AOTA's Service Award, and the ArizOTA Dennis Krenek Volunteer Service Award. She was an invited overseas guest speaker for the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapists and the Hong Kong Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2015. She was selected by ASSH to participate in a volunteer trip for hand surgeons and hand therapists to La Paz, Bolivia, in 2015 and has been selected by AAHS to participate in a volunteer trip to Ghana, Africa, in 2017.

Great Resource

Great text with helpful illustrations and tips. Clearly written, enjoyable to read. Useful for new and seasoned as well. I started practicing Hand Therapy in 1984, took a break for about 10 years, went back just over a year ago. Unfortunately let my certification lapse. Bought this to help me prepare to re-take the CHT exam, and as an aid in teaching a new graduate. I'm very pleased with my choice. The online resources are not as extensive as I hoped, but are useful for visual learners.

I find this textbook very helpful in my every day practice. It has nicely delineated clinical application tips to pay attention to during evaluation and treatment process. Absolutely irreplaceable for a beginner-OT practicing in hand therapy.

I love this book!!. It has a lot of information in a clear way to easy understand. Also anatomy was easy to enjoy :). Examples and pictures help a lot to understand most of the concepts.
