The Notes Upon The New Testament is considered to be one of John Wesley's principal works, and its readability, influence and popularity has remained since the time of its publication until today. Charles Wesley assisted in some ways, including his translations of the gospels and in other unspecified ways. Wesley cites his influences for the New Testament Notes as the Gnomon Novi Testamenti of Bengel, the Paraphrase of Dr Guyse, the Theological Lectures of Dr Heylin and the Family Expositor of Dr Doddridge. The fourth and fifth editions of the Notes contained corrections by John & Charles Wesley and others.

If you want to understand the book of Revelation you MUST first read the Old Testament book of Daniel. It is imperative to read Daniel because he was given visions and dreams that were explained by Jesus Himself and the angel Gabriel. Chapter 2 reveals the empires to come and points toward the Revelation of Jesus Christ. By the way, Antiochus Epiphanes was not the power spoken of in Daniel chapter 9. Modern Bible scholars fail to realize that he was on the scene for only 12 years and was far, far, too early to have any part in the "abomination of desolation" spoken of in chapter 9. Look back to chapter 2 and note when the "Rock cut out without hands" hits the metal man: at the toes of the feet which means beyond the legs of iron—pagan Rome—and past the European Union with Papal Rome. This is Christ's second coming.
If you want an excellent and accurate read on history and the events to come read The Great Controversy by Ellen G. White. But, have your Bible nearby!

Excellent.
It is hard to read Revelations on your own and understand it. You can do it and get somethings out of it, but not enough.
It says that the reader is blessed by reading it, but you don't feel that way without this commentary and notes. With them, it is truly enlightening and changes your thinking and understanding. It is Christian education at its best.
Taking a worthless Bible class on Revelations led by dimwits and speculators is an awful experience. Lots of crazy talk on Revelations. This is different. You are on your way to being a mature Christian by reading this.
It is amazing how badly taught many of us are and what a dismal job our Christian leaders do regarding our understanding of true Christian doctrine. They are to blame for the rise in cults and the lack of understanding of what the Bible is all about. Read Revelations and see the warning they are given. More should be expected of them and is.
With John Wesley you can educate yourself. Then you can educate your children which is what the family is expected to do. Don't leave it to others.
